Jumbo Lake Wallenpaupack Perch!

The Jumbo Lake Wallenpaupack perch are plentiful with 30-50 fish days at peak times common. The lake is 13 miles long and is the border between Wayne and Pike Counties in North East Pennsylvania.

I target the perch as the water temp drops below 50. The ice fishing can be excellent as well for these striped delicacies.

Perch are one of the best eating of the freshwater fish. they have a mild taste and white fillet. The perch reproduce rapidly so it is a good option for table fair and the quality of perch in Lake Wallenpaupack is excellent with 12-14 inch fish common and 15 inch fish are caught frequently.

drop shotting, spooning, and vertically fishing Rapala Jigging Raps are all effective after the fall turnover.

Ice fishing can be very productive targeting fish in 32-36 ft of water and using a flasher like the Marcum LX7. with this flasher you can see your jig and watch the fish come up at it like a video game.

If interested in a ice fishing trip or late fall perch trip I know a guide that will be on them!
